    Azobe Hardwood Stake 4 x 4 x 120 cm - Per piece

When constructing a deck, a solid base is very important. A common way to build a deck is with wooden stakes. The wooden structure will then rest on stakes that haven been driven into the ground. To guarantee that your decking remains stable, opt for stakes made of hardwood. Wovar's stakes are made of durable hardwood, so you can enjoy your decking for a long time. These square, pointed stakes are 40× 40 mm wide and 120 cm long.

    Hardwood stakes

If you want a wooden stake that is good and long-lasting, choose one made from hardwood. Stakes made of hardwood have a high load-bearing capacity, keeping your construction solid. Do not use picket posts made from “regular wood”, these are often far too soft to support structures. Stakes are important, as they are part of the foundation in your construction. They can also be used to support garden edging, in which case they are driven into the ground right next to the edging. The hardwood has a brown/red colour. Over time, this colour will fade to a greyer shade. You can enjoy the hardwood post for at least 25 years, provided it is used correctly.

    Hardwood stake 40 x 40

You can install hardwood stakes in various ways, depending on your preference. A traditional method is to drive them into the ground with a post hammer, although this may damage the top of the stake. Another way is to use an auger, followed by finishing the last part with a post hammer. For maximum stability, we recommend placing the wooden stake in quick-set concrete. This ensures that it is firmly anchored and capable of carrying heavy loads. You can find both a post hammer and an auger in our garden tools range.
