You can use full-threaded, galvanised screws 4 mm to fasten the barrel bolt. Are you going to attach the lock to a hardwood surface? Then pre-drill with a 2.5 mm drill bit. With softwood, this is not necessary. Of course, a strike plate is included that the bolt can slide into. The bolt can extend a maximum of 5 cm, so make sure the gap between the strike plate and the plate with the bolt is not bigger than 3 cm.
