    Black Root Barrier PP 1000 g/m2 - Roll 0.7 x 3 m

Do you ever suffer from bamboo roots or other plant roots growing all over the garden? With a root barrier from Wovar, this is a thing of the past. This root barrier is made of extra strong polypropylene. The black root barrier is 1.2 mm thick and weighs 1000 grams per square meter. The root barrier ensures that plants like bamboo no longer grow outside their designated patch of garden, or hardly do. Root barriers are used around a plant, tree, or shrub area, to prevent the roots from spreading to other sections of the garden, or even worse, beneath the foundation of a structure. Because this is a stiff material that is harder than, for example, landscape fabric, it makes it even more difficult for roots to break through.

    Root barriers for bamboo

This root barrier is very widely used for bamboo. This is due to the stiff and fast-spreading roots that this particular plant has. The flexible root barrier ensures that the plant cannot expand, but is limited to the designated piece of land.

How do you place a root barrier?

Installing a root barrier is an easy job, which is best done while doing the actual planting. For example, when you have just purchased a new bamboo plant. You first open a pit in the desired location. Do not immediately close this hole, but line it with a root barrier along the sides. Make sure it goes all the way around and rejoins at the beginning. This way you don't have a seam where the roots still sneak through. When the root barrier is in place, you can position the plant in the hole. Next, fill the remaining space with soil, gravel, or other plants. Now you can enjoy your plants, even bamboo, for a long time without the roots taking over the garden. This allows you to enjoy a beautiful garden, just the way you want it!
