    Butyl tape 150mm x 15m

    Butyl tape 150mm x 15m

Butyl tape? You mean butyl tape! Butyl tape, also known as butyl tape, is a UV-resistant tape with an Aluminium foil and a single-adhesive butyl layer on top. This unique and very popular tape can provide a waterproof finish or repair and is suitable for indoors and outdoors. Butyl tape is a Black tape that is permanently elastic and also damp-proof and water-resistant. In addition, it is paintable and adheres excellently to virtually any surface material.

The Wovar butyl tape is supplied in three widths (50 mm, 100 mm & 150 mm) and has a length of 15 metres. You can easily cut it to the desired length yourself with a Snap-off knife for use.

Here's why order butyl tape today

Butyl tape or butyl tape has a very good adhesion to almost any surface material and is very flexible thanks to the butyl. Thanks to this material it is vapour retardant and water-repellent and you can actually use it as a good all-rounder for almost every job inside and outside.

Butyl tape is best used for various sealing or repair jobs that need to be sealed 100% airtight and watertight.

For example, butyl tape is used for a watertight seal after the installation of window frames, skylights and for (small) repairs to, for example, the gutter or aluminium profiles. The water- and vapour retardant properties of the butyl tape lend themselves perfectly to this and, thanks to its elastic properties, you can easily shape this tape to what you need.

    How to use butyl tape

First of all, determine what width you need for your job, for smaller seals we recommend the 50 mm. For most jobs, the 100 mm version is most suitable and for large joints (e.g. sealing a skylight) you can choose the 150 mm version. Then determine the length and cut the tape to the right length with a Snap-off knife. You can now peel off the remainder and stick the tape securely onto the product you want to repair or seal. Make sure that the adhesion is seamless. Tip: You can easily shape the tape into the desired shape and stretch it a little where necessary.

Please note, if you let this tape overlap, a minimum overlap of 30 mm is needed to ensure good adhesion. If you have another application for which this tape is not quite suitable, you may find a more suitable tape on our category page tape.
