Hoses of 1 inch and 1 1/2 inch can be attached directly to the connection of the submersible pump, use a hose clamp to secure the hose securely and prevent it from coming loose. Hose clamps are easy to tighten and Wovar offers them in every conceivable size.

If you do not have a 1 or 1 1/2-inch hose then this is not a problem, our submersible pumps can be easily connected to your hose. Saw off the first part of the connection to the submersible pump, up to the Screw thread. Then you can screw our tap connection 1" onto the pump without tools. Take your garden hose and secure it by using a hose connector to the nipple of the tap connector.

A short and concise explanation of how a submersible pump and its connection works can be found in our blog 'how does a submersible pump work?'.

Submersible pump with built-in float

Connect one hose to the submersible pump's hose connector and place the other side where you want to drain the water. Plug in the 10-metre power cable and place the pump underwater, upright on the bottom. The pump is turned on and off by a useful float switch and will start pumping when you place the pump in the water and the float begins to float. You can also force the pump to keep pumping by attaching the float to the pump.
