Coloured-head screws Beige Stainless steel 4.8 x 60 mm - Box 100 Pieces
The mounting of facade panels, such as the well-known trespa panels, can be carried out in various ways. The most common mounting methods are gluing or screwing the panels. When gluing the panels, you run the risk that the glue will dry out and crumble over time. During a storm, the panels may come loose. To prevent this, so-called Coloured-head screws have been created. As the name suggests, these screws are characterised by their wide colourful head. This wide head ensures a high clamping range, as the tension is distributed over a large Surface area.
Characteristics of Trespa screws
Wovar's Trespa screws, also known as HPL screws, are available in a variety of colours and lengths. Popular variants include white, black, anthracite, beige, grey or creamy white. The beautiful colour of the screw head is protected by a so-called Qualicoat coating. This special coating preserves the beautiful deep colour and makes the head scratch- and UV-resistant. This keeps the head beautiful for a very long time. The HPL screws are available in 5 lengths, namely 25, 32, 38, 50 and 60 mm. The head of the screws is 12 mm wide and the thread is 4.8 mm thick. Using the included Torx-20 bit, you effortlessly screw the screws into the plates. These screws are made of A4 stainless steel, which has the advantage over A2 stainless steel that they are even more resistant to moisture, acids, salts and chlorine. This allows you to use these screws even if you live in a coastal area.
Installing HPL panels
Wovar always recommends pre-drilling when installing facade panels with Coloured-head screws. Preferably use a hardwood drill bit here, in this case a 5 mm variant. With this you drill the central hole, also known as a fixing point, in the beams to which the panels will be secured. Do this for each beam, regardless of whether you are using multiple beams. Pre-drill the other holes with an 8 mm hardwood drill bit. Pre-drilling with this thicker variant ensures that the boards can 'work' with temperature changes. These holes should be drilled every 40 cm. Keep in mind that these holes should not be more than 10x the panel thickness (in mm) from the edge of the panel for optimal fastening.
Followed by choosing the right screw, we first recommend looking at the RAL colour of your Trespa panel to get a perfect colour match with the screw you want to use. Then determine the desired screw length, which depends on the panel thickness. Below is a brief overview of the various (standard) panel thicknesses and suitable screws:
Sheet thickness | Minimum screw length |
6 mm | 25, 32, 38, 50 & 60 mm |
8 mm | 32, 38, 50 & 60 mm |
10 mm | 38, 50 & 60 mm |
13 mm | 38, 50 & 60 mm |
The next step involves installing the boards. We recommend you start by installing the plate at the fixing points. This has the advantage that the plate can be easily 'shifted' if the other drill holes are not perfectly aligned with the holes on the plate when you clamp it in place. Do not overtighten the screws, as this will prevent the Wood from expanding or shrinking.

If you want to secure a rockpanel panel we recommend our rockpanel screws, these are supplied in the same Quality (A4 with Qualicoat coating). However, these are specially manufactured to always have the right clamping force for these specific boards for optimal results. For wooden cladding, on the other hand, we recommend our cladding screws. Thanks to the lens head, these screws provide an almost invisible fastening.
