    Coloured-head screws Grey Stainless steel 4.8 x 25 mm - Box 100 Pieces

When you want to secure trespa panels to a timber frame, you can do so in two ways. One is to glue the face panels together. The disadvantage of glue is that after a while it dries up and can start to crumble, making a previously solid structure suddenly a Piece less sturdy. Then, in a storm, some may just blow loose. With the specially designed trespa screws, also called Coloured-head screws or HPL screws, this is a thing of the past. These screws are specially designed for installing facade panels. Think for example of screws with a white, black, Anthracite, Grey or creamy white head. The available lengths vary from 25 to 60 mm. The HPL screws have a wide head of around 12 mm, which ensures a high clamping range. Screwing in these high-quality screws is easy with the supplied Torx-20 bits. The screws are made of A4 stainless steel. The advantage of this type of steel is that it is resistant to all kinds of acids, salts and chlorine. This makes this screw ideally suited for salty areas, such as on the coast.

    Installing response panels

When installing facade panels, it is always advisable to pre-drill the panel. This is done with a tungsten carbide HSS drill bit, which you can find in our range of hardwood drill bits. We recommend pre-drilling the central hole (also called the fixing point) with the 5 mm variant. This drill is just wide enough for our Coloured-head screws. You drill the fixation point centrally at each beam to which the board will be Securing, regardless of whether you are using 2, 3 or more beams. Then pre-drill the remaining holes (with which you will secure the panel to the beam) with an 8 mm hardwood drill bit. This allows the panels to 'work'. This is the expansion and shrinking of the panel due to temperature changes. Drill these holes every 40 cm. Make sure these holes are no more than 10 times the panel thickness (in mm) away from the panel edge for the best fastening.

After the drilling is done, it is important to find the right screw for your job.

Make sure you know what RAL colour your sheet metal is, so you always choose a screw with the right colour. Then determine the desired screw length, which in turn depends on the thickness of the cladding panel. Below is a brief overview of the Standard sheet thicknesses and the corresponding screws:

    Sheet thicknessMinimum screw length
    6 mm25, 32, 38, 50 & 60 mm
    8 mm32, 38, 50 & 60 mm
    10 mm38, 50 & 60 mm
    13 mm38, 50 & 60 mm

Following this, you can start installing the boards. We recommend you start by installing the plate at the fixing points. This has the advantage that the plate can easily be 'shifted' if the other drill holes are not perfectly aligned with those of the plate. Then tighten them. Be careful not to tighten them too much, just 'hand-tight' is tight enough (as the plate will expand and shrink). Then start tightening the other trespa screws until all screws are in place. Even these screws should not be tightened completely.

Profit today and order a high-quality coloured-head screw at a very affordable price. Coloured-head screws from Wovar are made entirely of A4 stainless steel, where A2 stainless steel is the norm, and have a scratch-resistant Qualicoat coating. As a result, you will not only receive the best screw, but also have the assurance of a screw that will last. For our business customers, we offer additional benefits, such as a business account with fixed discounts.

Is this HPL screw not quite what you are looking for? Then take a look at our entire range of Coloured-head screws, where we have various other sizes and colours available. For wooden cladding, on the other hand, we recommend our cladding screws. Thanks to the lens head, these screws provide a virtually invisible fastening.
