Fencing Maul - Per piece

This fencing maul, also called post maul, is a popular tool for driving posts into the ground. If you want to build a fence, you want to make sure the fence posts are strong and deep in the ground. This hammer is perfect to ensure that happens. The long handle (90 cm) is made of strong ashwood. The hammer is similar to a sledgehammer, but there are some key differences. The fencing maul has two flat faces on either side of the head, whereas a sledgehammer has one pointed side. The faces on a fencing maul are also bigger than the flat face on a sledgehammer. 

Using a fencing maul

The fencing maul is easy to use. The long handle allows for an extra large swing, which produces an extra large blow. Added to that, the faces on the hammer measure 10 x 19 cm. The increased surface means more force is transferred to the post. This way, those posts are deep into the ground in no time. 

Of course, the hammer can also be used for other tasks. The one important difference with the sledgehammer when you are tearing down a wall is the pointed face on one side.
