Gate Fittings Ringed Gate Lock and Black Hinges Straight with Rustic Tip

Build a beautiful garden gate with these rustic gate fittings. This set contains a ringed gate lock and all the items are coated with a black coating. 

What is in this set?

The consists of the following items:

• 2 flat hinges with rustic tip 50 cm
• 2 hinge hooks
• 1 ringed gate lock
• The required fasteners: 
  • 2 carriage bolts M8 x 70 mm
  • 6 coach screws M8 x 30 mm
  • 8 screws 6 x 50 mm
  • 12 screws 4 x 25 mm
  • 6 black covers M8

Using the set

To install these gate fittings, you will need a 6 and 9 mm hardwood drill bit. A spirit level and pencil might also be helpful.

Good to know: The strap hinges have 3 round holes and 1 square hole. Use the coach screws for the round holes and the carriage bolts for the square hole.

1. Decide where on the door you want the hinges, and where on the wall, frame, or post you want the hinge hooks.
2. Mark the mounting holes.
3. Pre-drill the holes with the 6 mm hardwood drill bit. Note: do not drill all the way through the wood. 20 mm deep is enough.
4. Drill the holes for the square mounting holes with the 9 mm hardwood drill bit. This is where the carriage bolts will go, and they are not self-drilling.
5. Attach the strap hinges and hinge hooks with the coach screws and carriage bolts.
6. Determine the position of the ringed gate lock.
7. Mark the mounting holes.
8. Pre-drill the holes to a maximum of 20 mm.
9. Fix the ringed gate lock to the door with the remaining screws.
