Hinge Drilling Jig 35 mm - Per piece

With this drilling jig for cabinet hinges, installing your new cabinet hinges is effortless. The drilling jig can be used for hinges with a diameter of 35 mm. This is the most common size for cabinet hinges.

Note: This drilling jig is only for full overlay and half overlay hinges, not for inset hinges.

    Hinge drilling jig 35 mm

The dimensions of the drilling jig are 85 x 40 x 3 mm (l x w x h) and the pins have a diameter of 2 mm. Furthermore, the jig is made of strong plastic and contains four holes that allow you to mark the position of the screws of the cabinet hinges.

    Using a hinge drilling jig

In addition to the hinge drilling jig, you will need the following tools for mounting cabinet hinges: a power drill, a Forstner drill bit 26 or 35 mm (similar to a hinge cutter), a hardwood drill bit 3.5 mm, a PH-2 screwdriver or bit, a pencil, and a drilling jig for hinges. Below you will find a guide to installing kitchen cabinet hinges. You will also find a visual guide in the images above.

    1. Place the jig on your cabinet with the flat side against the side panel.
    2. Mark the positions of the screws in the corners.
    3. Drill 5 mm deep holes with the hardwood drill bit.
    4. Rotate the hinge jig, so it is horizontal, and place the little pins sticking out of the jig in the holes.
    5. Position the cupboard door straight and flush against the frame and jig. Mark the middle hole in the jig.
    6. Use the Forstner bit to drill the hole in the door by placing the centre point on the dot. Be careful not to drill all the way through the wood.
    7. Place the cup plate of the hinge in the hole and secure it to the cupboard door.
    8. Place the mounting plate of the hinge on the side board of the cupboard and secure it.
    9. Slide the hinge on the mounting plate and secure it.
    10. (Optional) Complete the hinge with a cover plate.
