Hinge Jig 89 x 89 mm Right - Per piece

Routing 89 x 89 mm hinges is an easy job with this hinge jig. This single hinge jig is suitable for right hand doors, and is made of strong, durable plastic.

The dimensions of the hinge jig are 260 x 96 x 18 mm (l x w x h). The jig contains three mounting holes to secure the jig to your frame or door.

    Using the hinge jig

In order to use this hinge jig, you will also need the following items:

    • Plunge router
    • Guide bush 24 mm
    • Router bit 18 mm
    • Allen key 2.5 and 4 mm
    • Writing and measuring equipment
    • Drill and 4 x 30 mm screws
    • Safety glasses, ear protection, and dust mask

Step 1: Start with the frame. Determine where you want the hinge, then secure the jig to the door frame with 4 x 30 mm screws.

Step 2: Set the plunge router to the right depth. Place the router in the jig. Push the router down until the router bit touches the frame, and lock the router in this position. Caution! Do not turn on the plunge router during this task. Finally, use a hinge to determine the cutting depth (also see image 4).

Step 3: Start routing the hinge. When you are done, remove the screws keeping the jig attached to the frame.

Step 4: Place the hinge jig on the hinge side of the door. Make sure it is at the same height as on the frame. Secure the jig to the door with the 4 x 30 mm screws. Use the same settings on your plunge router as you used for the frame.

Step 5: Start routing the hinge. When you are done, remove the screws keeping the jig attached to the door.

Step 6: Fix the hinge to the frame and door. Check whether everything works smoothly.
