Why choose Hinge Jig Set 76 x 76 mm - Set of 4?

  • Complete set for routing hinges
  • For right and left hand doors
  • Convenient size for transporting

    Hinge Jig Set 76 x 76 mm - Set of 4

Looking for a helpful router jig for 76 x 76 mm hinges? This 4-part hinge jig set allows you to route four 76 x 76 mm hinges. The jigs are universal and can be used on right and left hand doors, so the jig is guaranteed to fit your door. The jigs are made of hard plastic and the guide is made of steel. The total length of the guide is 2 m, but it consists of two parts of 1 m, making it easy to transport.

    Using the hinge jig set

In order to use this hinge jig set, you will also need the following items:

    • Plunge router
    • Guide bush 24 mm
    • Router bit 18 mm
    • Allen key 2.5 and 4 mm
    • Writing and measuring equipment
    • Drill and 4 x 30 mm screws
    • Safety glasses, ear protection, and dust mask

Step 1: Start with the frame. Slide the jigs along the guide to the position where you want the hinges. Secure them to the rail with the Allen key. Make sure the metal lip on the top jig touches the bottom of the header. Now, secure the whole set to the door frame with 4 x 30 mm screws.

Step 2: Set the plunge router to the right depth. Place the router in one of the jigs. Push the router down until the router bit touches the frame, and lock the router in this position. Caution! Do not turn on the plunge router during this task. Finally, use a hinge to determine the cutting depth (also see image 5).

Step 3: Start routing the hinges. When you are done, remove the screws keeping the jig set attached to the frame.

Step 4: Place the hinge jig set on the hinge side of the door. Hook the metal lip on the top jig to the top of the door. Secure the jig set to the door with the 4 x 30 mm screws. Use the same settings on your plunge router as you used for the frame.

Step 5: Start routing the hinges. When you are done, remove the screws keeping the jig set attached to the door.

Step 6: Fix the hinges to the frame and door. Check whether everything works smoothly.
