Why choose Offset Hinge Black 65 cm - Rustic Tip?

  • Very strong thanks to galvanised steel
  • Protected against flash rust

Offset Hinge Black 65 cm - Rustic Tip

This black offset hinge is 65 cm long and made of strong, black powder-coated steel. In addition to being beautiful, the black coating also protects the hinge against corrosion. The rustic tip provides a rural look. With this offset hinge, you can easily install fence doors or garden gates. The large bend (4 cm) makes it possible to mount the hinge hooks on the back of the post.

This hinge is the 'band' part of a hook and band hinge. You will need to add a hinge hook to your order to complete the hinge. These offset hinges have a 16 mm eye, which means you should combine them with our galvanised 16 mm hinge hooks.

The black hinges are equipped with 4 mounting holes with a diameter of 8 mm. Our carriage bolts M8 fit perfectly in these mounting holes. The length of the carriage bolts depends on the thickness of your gate.

How do I attach offset hinges to my gate?

You can mount Wovar's black offset hinges with our black carriage bolts. Our black carriage bolts M8 x 60 mm are most commonly used for this. Mount the hinges on the same side as the direction of rotation. Will the door open to the outside? Mount the hinges on the outside of the door. If the door opens inwards, attach the handles on the inside of the door.

Place the hinge at the correct height on the door and mark the mounting holes with a pencil. Are you using carriage bolts? Then it is necessary to drill the holes for the bolts with a 9 mm thick hardwood drill bit. Next, slide the carriage bolts through the hole. The nut of the carriage bolts is on the same side of the door as the hinge. This means that the head is on the opposite side. By tapping the head of the carriage bolts with a rubber hammer, the square part under the head of the bolt clamps into the wood. This prevents the carriage bolt from turning when tightening the nut.

Each offset hinge has 1 square mounting hole. Insert the black carriage bolt with head on the same side as the hinge in the square hole. The square part under the head of the carriage bolt fits exactly into the square hole of the hinge. This ensures a solid attachment of the hinges.

How many hinges do I need for my garden gate?

For doors or gates in your garden that are shorter than 120 cm, Wovar recommends using 2 hinges with hinge hooks. For larger doors, it is recommended to use 3 hinges. By using 3 hinges, you greatly reduce the chance that your gate may bend.
