To prevent your post from rotting, let the post float 5mm in the post holder. This ensures that the water that slides down the pole can be drained. When attaching this post holder on foot, use our galvanised M8 coach screws. Just pre-drilling in the post with a 6.0 mm thick hardwood drill ensures that the lag screws have a lot of flesh in the wood for a tight installation. This applies to both securing the post and mounting the post holder on a wooden deck.

If you are anchoring the post holder in stone or concrete, combine the lag screws with a 12x60 mm nylon plug. You then drill a hole with our 12 mm thick hammer drill and fill the hole with a plug. Then tighten the lag screws in the plug. To prevent damage to the post holder on plate, order our washers galvanised M8.
