How does a Postsaver Protector Sleeve work?

The post protector has an outer layer of heavy polyethylene and an inner layer of fusible bitumen. During application with a gas or paint burner, the inner layer melts, so that it adheres firmly around the post. The post protector now fits tightly around the post and acts as a protective layer. Because the Postsaver is applied at the point of air and ground, the post will not rot.

Placing the Post Guard

Mark the place where you want to apply the protective layer. The post must be thoroughly dry for a reliable bond. For square posts, we recommend burning side by side. For good adhesion, use a wet paint roller to roll over the post saver after it has crimped to one side of the post. Then repeat this procedure for the next sides. Keep the burner 30 to 40 cm from the pole while burning. Let the Postsaver cool down for 5 minutes, after which the post can be used and you can place it into the ground at the desired location.
