When you want to secure an insulation plate (such as for example a PIR plate), you have two choices, namely to glue the plate or to secure it with an insulation screw. 

This pressure distribution plate is made of Galvanised Steel, measures 82 x 40 mm in an oval shape and comes in boxes of 100 pieces (enough for 20 m² of insulation plates). For pressure distribution plates, use insulation screws that are at least 15 mm longer than the diameter of the plate. We therefore recommend using insulation screws or plasterboard screws with a length of 65 mm or longer in combination with these pressure distribution plates. Because of the drill hole, the screw should have a head 6.3 mm wide or wider.

What is a pressure distribution plate?

A pressure distribution plate is a plate that distributes pressure over the surface area of the plate. These pressure distribution plates are mainly used to secure insulation boards such as PIR boards. Because PIR boards are mainly made of foam, the board can dent and crack when you normally secure it with screws. With a pressure distribution plate, the pressure is evenly distributed over the surface area of the plate, so the insulation plate is not damaged and is better fixed.

Number of pressure distribution plates per m²

The number of pressure distribution plates depends on the size of the insulation boards. We recommend using 5 pressure distribution plates for a plate measuring 120 cm x 60 mm. You can use the rule of thumb that you want to use approximately 5 pressure distribution plates per m² of insulation boards to secure them correctly.
