Quadrant arm stays are useful simple brackets that catch your sash window after it is unlocked. This keeps your window ajar, allowing plenty of fresh air into your room. You decide where to place the sash bars; the further up you place the bar, the less open your window will be. A good starting position is about half the total window height, see also figure 2. By placing the hinges at a slight angle, the window will fall perfectly into this position. Installation is fairly simple, but in most cases you will need to chisel a piece out of your frame so that the hinges fit properly. Installing is easy with our 4 x 30 mm Galvanised screws, which will disappear nicely into the mounting holes.
