The thief's claw is 18 mm high and when unfolded, this hinge is 76 x 76 mm long and wide. Also, this security hinge has ball bearings. These ensure that the hinge operates smoothly and almost noiselessly.

With a load capacity of about 10 kg per ball bearing hinge, you will need three of these hinges for an average interior door. However, we recommend always using four Hinges. So order these right away so you can get started right away. In addition, you will need to drill a hole about 20 mm deep in the door frame for the thief's claw. For this, use a butterfly drill of 16 mm. 

In addition, you will need to make a recess for the Hinge to work properly. You do this by drawing an outline of the Hinge at the place where you are going to install it. Is your door, window or frame made of Hardwood? Then pre-drill the mounting holes lightly, about 10 mm deep. Use our 2.5 mm hardwood drill bits for this.

The attached diagram shows the best way to place the safety hinges. Are you using five hinges? Then place two at the top and bottom and one in the middle. In addition, you will need to drill the two bottom screws at an angle into the frame if the door turns inwards.
