Soft-close drawer runners 550 mm ball bearing drawer runners - Per Set

Wovar's 550mm drawer rails are ideal for creating deep drawers that open and close smoothly and almost silently. This is because the drawer runners feature a so-called ball cage containing small balls. The drawer rails slide over these small balls, so your drawers will open and close smoothly. They also have a soft-close mechanism. This means your drawers will always close gently.

This set of drawer runners 550 mm long and 45.5 mm high. This makes them suitable for drawers 550 mm deep. Furthermore, the drawer runners have a maximum extension length of 554 mm and a load capacity of about 40 kg.

Softclose drawer runner

This set of ball bearing drawer runners with soft-close closure consists of two drawer runners and two drawer runners. We recommend that you order screws yourself. These are not included.

Our advice is therefore to order our chipboard screws Galvanised 3 x 16 mm. Due to the razor-sharp Cutting point of these screws, they turn easily in the wood. You only need a Torx screwdriver TX10 or TX10 bit in combination with a drill.

When using chipboard screws, in most cases there is no need to pre-drill the screw holes. This is because they have a razor-sharp Cutting point that ensures the wood will not split. Are you installing the drawer runners on Hardwood? Then we still recommend pre-drilling the holes. Use our 2 mm hardwood drill bits for best results.

How do I install drawer runners with soft-close mechanism?

Step 1: Pull out the runners completely.
Step 2: At the back of the inner rail you will now see a little black lever. Push this upwards to remove the rail from the guides.
Step 3: Now install the drawer runners at the desired height on the inside of the cupboard.
Step 4: Install the loose rail to your drawer, at the height of the drawer runners on your cupboard.
Step 5: Now slide the drawer with the drawer rails back into the drawer runners.

When installing, make sure that the drawer runners and the Surface area you mount them on are always straight. This is why we also recommend using a spirit level with this. If you need another spirit level, you can find it in the measuring tools.

In addition, it is important that the space between the drawer and the frame is at least 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm wider than the thickness of the guide.
