Offset Hinge Black with Square Holes 65 cm - Crescent Tip
Do you want to build a gate? Then Wovar's gate hinges are exactly what you need. These offset hinges are equipped with square mounting holes, making them unique among gate hinges. This hinge is 65 cm long with a 90 degree bend. This 4 cm bend allows you to place the hinge hooks at the back instead of to the side. Because the hinge is made from galvanised steel, it can be used with a heavy gate.
Which fastener do I need?
These hinges have six 9 x 9 mm, square mounting holes, which means they match well with carriage bolts. The square part behind the head of the bolt fits exactly in the square hole, creating a strong connection. For 9 x 9 mm holes, always use M8 carriage bolts. The length of the bolts depends on the thickness of your door. If you prefer working with screws instead of bolts, you can also use coach screws. With screws, the end of the fastener stays in the door, while bolts will go through the wood with a nut at the end. Whether you have to use a bolt or a screw mostly depends on personal preference. We recommend carriage bolts for creating the strongest connection.
Offset hinges
This hinge is the 'band' part of a hook and band hinge. You will need to add a hinge hook to your order to complete the hinge. Hinge hooks are plate-mounted hooks. These cranked hinges have a 16 mm eye, which means you should combine them with our galvanised 16 mm hinge hooks. Attach with galvanised garden screws or galvanised chipboard screws. If you want to attach the hinge hooks to a concrete or brick wall, combine these screws with wall plugs. After securing the hinges to the door and the hinge hooks to the frame, lift the door to place the hinges on the hinge hooks. The door can now be used.
