Strike plates Rebated Door right for mortice lock Galvanised - Per Piece
Striking plates for rebated doors are used on the frame and cover the holes in which the latch and dead bolt fall. In these so-called corner striker plates, the lip is already bent over so it protects the frame from damage to the latch bolt of the mortise lock. The corner strike plates are often replaced when painting work is carried out on the frame. But also when you install new handles backplates, rosettes and door handles, a new strike plate finishes off the whole.
Please note: This strike plate for rebated doors is only suitable for a left-handed rebated door.
.Install strike plates for rebated doors
.Before installing a strike plate, mark the place on the frame where the latch and dead bolt of the mortise lock will fall into the frame. Once you have marked out that spot, use a wood chisel to make a recess in the frame for these locks. Make this cut-out about 1 to 1.5 cm deep, after which you should also cut out the surface area of the strike plates with a chisel. This will ensure that your strike plates lie nicely recessed in the frame.
Couple a few mm deep, keeping the thickness of the strike plates. Now place the strike plate on the frame to cover it neatly.
The protruding lip of the strike plate falls around the frame. This will protect the frame wood from the latch bolt of the mortise locks. This strike plates for rebated doors can only be used for left-handed doors. These doors can be recognised by the Hinges on the left-hand side of the door, seen from the side of the door where the hinge knobs are visible.Order Galvanised right strike plates for mortice locks
