Installing a tree ring

Take a look at the steps below to find out how you can install a tree ring.

1. Determine where you want the tree ring. You can do this by positioning the ring around the tree.
2. Dig a small ditch with a depth of around 10 cm in the desired spot.
3. Place the tree ring in the trench and fasten the two ends by interlocking them. For extra security, bend the small catch and tap it with a hammer, creating a kind of hook.
4. Use a rubber mallet to lightly tap the tree ring, causing it to go deeper into the ground. 
5. Refill the trench with soil and tamp it down firmly to secure the tree ring.
