Weep holes improve ventilation in your cavity wall, the amount required depends on how well ventilated the cavity wall is. We recommend installing a weep hole in all open butt joints. Below is a brief overview of how many butt joints that are required in different situations.

• Non-ventilated - Only open butt joints in the area of the foundation and above the frames
• Poorly ventilated - 1 butt joint per m² at the top and bottom of the façade
• Goodly ventilated - butt joints are not required.
