Window Rim Lock SKG Inward Opening White - Per piece

Make life difficult for burglars by securing your windows  with an SKG certified rim lock. The lock is suitable for inward opening windows.

The rim lock is 75 mm wide, has a depth of 33 mm, and includes fasteners. Added to that, this window lock is SKG1 certified. This indicates that the lock can withstand a simple burglary attempt for at least 3 minutes.

Window rim lock SKG inward opening

The rim lock consists of the following parts:

    • 1 lock
    • 1 strike plate
    • 2 cover caps
    • 4 screws 5 x 50 mm
    • 2 screws 5 x 25 mm
    • 2 screws 5 x 80 mm
    • 5 washer plates (1, 2, 3, 6, and 8 mm)
    • 2 keys
    • 1 instruction manual

    Installing an SKG rim lock

To install this lock, you need a minimum frame width of 32 mm. We recommend pre-drilling the holes with a 2.5 mm hardwood drill bit.

    1. Determine the position of the lock. For window frames with a depth up to 65 mm, place the lock 4 to 5 mm from the frame. For window frames with a depth of 65 mm or more, place the lock 3 mm from the frame.
    2. Mark where the screws need to go and pre-drill the holes no deeper than 30 mm.
    3. Fix the lock to the frame with two of the 5 x 50 screws.
    4. Close the window and turn the lock to the 'locked' position. This determines the position of the strik plate.
    5. Position the strike plate. Make sure there is a gap of 1 to 2 mm between the strike plate and the window. If you have a window that closes on top of the sill, creating a height difference, you can use the provided washer plates underneath the strike plate to even it out.
    6. Mark where the screws need to go and pre-drill the holes no deeper than 30 mm.
    7. Fix the strike plate to the frame with the provided 5 x 25 screws or use the 5 x 80 mm screws when you used the washer plates.
    8. Test the lock to see whether it works properly.
    9. Use the remaining screws to completely secure the lock.
    10. Place the cover caps on top of the lock and strike plate.
